Christmas

Christmas was awesome this year. We spend all the holidays with both my family and Tim's . It's nice to have them 10 min away. I had to work most of Christmas Eve, but Christmas day was filled with fun. Tim got the chance to dress up as Santa this year and surprise the kids in the morning. He loved it. Tommy our nephew figured it out pretty fast, but it was still really fun!

Later that afternoon we went to my parents for a while. We got the chance to speak to my brother Justin, who is on a mission in Italy. We are so proud of him and we can't wait for his return. My mom made us a really cute baby hat of BYU colors and a BYU blanket. She also made a Beatles Yellow Submarine blanket. Tim got a remote control helicopter from m parents, which has entertained everyone all weekend!

It was a great day! We can't wait till next year when we can celebrate it with our baby!

Celebrating 2 Years!

Tim and I celebrated two years on Dec. 1. I was surprised when I came home and Tim had gotten me a dozen roses and he made a slide show titled "24 months with Tina- 24 great things about her". I did cry a little. I was very surprised and touched. I have loved being married and I can't imagine going through this journey with anyone else. I am one lucky girl! Tim is an amazing man and I am thankful for the love, support and friendship he shows me everyday!

7 Weeks

Well, I am 7 weeks pregnant, and so far I can't really complain. Morning sickness doesn't exist for me, in which I feel very lucky. I can't relate to those who throw up everyday. I hope that I am not going to get a late case of it. As long as I keep my stomach satisfied by eating small healthy snacks, I feel great.

The only thing I can complain of is having Pregnancy Rhinitis. Pregnancy rhinitis occurs when nasal passages become irritated and inflamed during pregnancy. Thus experiencing nasal congestion, sneezing, and runny nose. It is said to last six weeks in the first trimester but could occur the whole pregnancy.

This annoying symptom has made it really hard to sleep at night. So I decided to try sleeping in our lazy boy chair. It is so far the most comfortable for me. The only thing is now Tim and I sleep apart from each other, which I don't like but it's the only way I have been able to sleep. I am going to move it into our bedroom though so we can at least be in the same room.

I can't really complain, because I would rather do this then throw up everyday, several times a day.

P.S. Our baby is the size of a blueberry now! not very big but a lot bigger then a dot! ahah

Trip to Idaho

Tim and I went to Idaho a while back and I have yet to post about our trip. We went up for the fourth of July. We stayed Tim's Grandmas. Tim's sister Rebecca went along with her two boys, and a couple more of Tim's siblings. We had tons of fun visiting with relatives, going to the zoo, and doing a temple session in the Rexburg Temple. Here are a couple pictures from the trip

Disco Skating!!!!

So Tim and I went with my friends Danette and Levi, Disco Skating last week. It was so much fun! I only fell once, and that was when we were leaving. Tim doesn't enjoy skating that much... he whispered in my ear...."Tina, I would rather be watching High School Musical, then do this" ahahah this made me laugh so hard, at that moment I could tell that he really does hate skating, but he knows that I enjoy it. I have such a good husband.

Also this past week Tim and I went to lagoon for the first time. It was so much fun! As we get older we realize our stomachs can't handle many roller coasters anymore... :(

Paul Mitchell Culture

While going to school, I have learned a lot more then cutting and coloring hair. I have learned a lot about myself as a person and I have learned that there is a Paul Mitchell culture that I try to fallow everyday. Last week I went to color class and Taryn was teaching that day.... I love that women. She is amazing and the Paul Mitchell culture changed her life. I wanted to share with everyone some things about our culture and how it can change your life or at least your outlook on life.

First of all...Are you Forward Focused??? There are many  people in this world that are negative and very few that are positive. There are many negative words that people use to describe things and that is exactly how the words when said make people feel, negative. Some words include:

stupid, terrible, can't, dumb, awful, ridiculous, hate, sucks, lame, ugly

Instead of using such negative words everyday we need to lift our positivity with positive words like:

can, will, awesome, yes, love it, magic, improvement, great, strength, grateful, love

At school we are learning all the time and people may say that we make mistakes in coloring or cutting  a clients hair. Never tell someone they made a mistake. Mistakes is a negative word. So we don't say that, we say discoveries! What a positive word! We made a discovery not a mistake! Being positive makes us excited to learn, if were told that we are making mistakes all the time we begin to have negative feelings. If we are told we made a discovery, we learned about what we did and therefore are more educated for the future. Discovering new things makes learning fun!

The next thing I wanted to talk about is the 3 Laws of The Mind.

Law 1: You can only focus on one thing at a time.

Sure everyone says that you can multi task, but really you can't. You can talk on the phone and drive. But really how well. Either you are not fully paying attention to the conversation  because your driving, or your not fully paying attention to the road because your on the phone. The quality of the tasks are not as great as they would be if done separately.

Law 2:  You can't avoid a don't

Your whole life there are always people telling you don't do this don't do that. Especially with children, we tell them don't all the time.

Example: Don't go in the street.

Immediately the child wants to because he can't resist.

Instead say: Don't go in the street or a car may come and not see you because your small, and it can hit you and squish you.

So it's not really that we can't say Don't, we just need to emphasize  and explain and tell them the consequence, and then they will avoid it... if they are smart.

Law 3: You move toward what you focus on

 F.A.C.E

In school we F.A.C.E each other and celebrate victories.

Find what is working.

Acknowledge it.

Celebrate it.

Enjoy your victory.

Are my Behaviors matching my values?

Everyone had values, or things they Value but is our behavior supporting that.

Here are some things that I Value:

My Husband
My Family
Job
School
Being Alive
Health
Knowledge
Religion

These are just a few things. I sat down and really thought about whether or not my behavior was matching. It was not. As I wrote down health... I was eating hot cheetos and cake! School... I was slacking off.... knowledge, I was watching TV instead of reading good books. So as I did this exercise I saw that my behaviors were not matching. I am working on this and making sure that my behavior matches so that I can honestly say that I value these things. I think everyone should do this exercise and see what they learn.

Random thoughts:

* Take time to find the value in all lessons learned.

* It is none of your business what other people think of you.

* Learning is change that requires growth.

* Many People fail because their plan is beyond their ability to execute and follow through....take baby steps... what 10% shift can you make towards your plan?

* What is the best thing that happened to you today?
If you ask someone this question you will be surprised what they will tell you and how excited they will get to tell you, they have been dying to share!. It can build relationships, and make people feel like you care and are invested in their feelings.

Well that's a little taste of the Paul Mitchell culture! Hope you enjoyed and learned something! I sure did! Let me know what you think!

Six Small Meals

The other day I was looking at pictures of myself from high school and before I met my Husband. I realized that back in that day I was about 30 pounds daintier. When I was getting married I found my wedding dress. Then because of the stress that comes with getting married I gained a few pounds. A couple weeks later doing my last fitting for the dress, my mom said it looked a little tight. So I quickly had to lose those few extra pounds. Then after we got married I wanted to be the best wife so I made 3 good meals..probably not healthy meals...but good ones. I noticed that Tim could eat quite a bit... so then I started eating Tim sized portions. Bad idea...When Tim ate, I would want to eat. Never in my life had I ate so frequently, nor the amount. So what happened.... I gained weight. I have not been feeling healthy, and the winter makes me so lazy.
Now that the sun is out I want to get rid of this extra weight and have my high school body back!
My sister and my good friend Raquel and I are all wanting to lose 30 pounds. So we are all eating six small meals a day so we don't over eat. We will also be doing lots of Cardio. I really hope I can stick to this, so no one tempt me! I will be blogging about my progress, so join in the fun!

Food is fuel, Not pleasure... this phrase has helped give me motivation.

Nothing tastes better then being thin... This has helped to..it will be posted on my fridge soon!

Life!

Well, I discovered that I suck at posting! I need to be better!! So its been a while... Tim and I are still doing the same thing... school, and work, and married life.

Tim is about to finish up the semester and made it through a hard week. But he got an A! He also forgot that he applied for a scholarship and got it!!! So that means we have our insurance covered for the next two semesters! What a blessing, paying your tithing brings blessings!

This past week was so fun! My best friend Lindsay came and visited us. Sadly we never took out our cameras so we have no pictures. But we do have lots of memories. We spent a couple days watching my sisters(Beth) kids. We saw the movie 17 Again, is was so funny. We then met up with Tim and have a feast at Tucanos. Then we went to the mall and got our nails done. What a girl day! She met Tim for the very first time.. and what do you know, she loved him, who doesn't!

Today is an exciting day! Tim's brother Mark comes home from his mission in spain. Tim is very very excited. I am too, though I have only met him once. But I am excited to get to know him.
